An expert talk is organized by CT Institute of Engineering Management & Technology, Shahpur, Jalandhar, on 5th Feb, 2019 to bridge the gap between industry and academia. Mr. Antarjami Mishra Manager Education Partner Sales Dassault Systems (India) was the resource person with delegates from Sai CAD, Jalandhar. Mr. Mishra shared the views that engineering students passing from academic institutes are facing the problems of placement whereas industry is not getting the youth up to their expectations. As per reports 50 % students passing from colleges are not employable due to reasons such as old curriculum and changing technology. He has highlighted the CAD field in which industry is facing shortage of skilled manpower. Industry is looking for skilled students with certification of CAD Courses. The students of Mechanical and Civil Engineering departments of CT University/CTIT, Shahpur/CTITR, Maqsudan got the knowledge of various design software’s which are used by MNC’s and certification of these software’s from Dassault Systems can be obtained by passing the online exam which can make them suitable upto the marks of industry not only in India but abroad also.
After a long time in the month March 2021 an offline Industrial Visit was organized for the students for the Department of Business Management. The students of MBA were taken to Amritsar at Hanni Industries. The industry dealt in various export quality products. They manufacture many Indian spices, Jaggery and its related products. They also deal in Kesar exports. The countries in which they export their products are Canada, New Zealand, England and many others. Their 95% business is based on exports. The owner of the industry said that he got inspired from his mother’s illness and started manufacturing pure products. He worked as one-man army at the earliest stages of business and then over the years has transformed it into a full-fledged industry. The students have learned a lot in this visit and have given positive feedback and appreciated our prestigious institute for arranging such visits.
With the aim to provide an exposure to students about practical working environments and give full awareness about the Industrial practices, an exposure visit was arranged by the Department of Business Management at “Oceana Tech" in the month of October 2020. Such visits enrich the students with practical knowledge of industrial procedures and widen their knowledge of managing industries.
An industrial trip to Decathlon (Ludhiana) was organized for the students of MBA on 3rd October 2019 by the Department of Business Management. The students explored and had access to the equipment and sports facilities as provided by the officials of the store. All in all it was a great visit. The students enjoyed and expect such kinds of industrial visits to be organized in future.
CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machining is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. Using this type of machine versus manual machining can result in improved accuracy, increased production speeds, enhanced safety, increased efficiency, and most of all cost savings.
Destructive testing (DT) is a form of object analysis that involves applying a test to break down a particular material to determine its physical properties, such as the mechanical properties of strength, toughness, flexibility, and hardness. The purpose of destructive & Non destructive testing is to determine service life and to detect design weaknesses that may not show up under normal working conditions.
The students (mechanical and automobile engineering) and the teachers both participated in the event. The main purpose to organize such a event was just to give practical and theoretical knowledge to the students and develop their interest to research further other than they learned from books.
