Electronics Engineering is one of the largest and fastest growing field of engineering. It covers a wide range of applications which make our life easier and enjoyable such as Television, Radio, computers, telecommunication etc. They help us to see, hear and communicate over vast distances and do things faster. Electronics has a major role in improving productivity in industries like oil, energy, agriculture and so many other important sectors of economy. In steel, petroleum and chemical industries it is the electronic devices that direct, control and test production processes. Health care industries depend on electronic instruments to perform chemical tests and to check body functions.
The safety in transportation, factories and mines and in homes relies heavily on electronics. An electronics engineer specializes to design, fabricate, produce, test and supervise the manufacture of complex products and systems i.e electronic equipments and components for a number of industries including hospitals, computer industry, electronic data processing systems for communication and in defense etc. They supervise production and manufacturing processes and oversee installation and maintenance. Electronics engineers work with devices that use extremely small amounts of power. They work with microprocessors, fibre optics, and in telecommunication, television, radio etc. These sought-after engineers can look forward to a rewarding and glorious career.
The department of ECE was established in the year 2004 with b.tech programme. The objectives for the establishment of the department are in line with the vision of ctiemt to become an exemplary institute of nationally acknowledged stature and excellence in teaching, research and development. Furthermore, our academic program and learning environment have been designed to contribute to the quality and intellectual development of the students. We offer a wealth of opportunities for our faculty and students to contribute to a broad spectrum of research. Our faculty members make every effort to ensure that the students "learn how to learn" and how to become leaders and pioneers, emphasizing fundamental principles that respond to and create technological changes that challenge the exceptional ability of a ct student. The department gives exposure to its students, not only to the regular engineering curriculum but also to the aspirations of today's corporate world by inculcating a professional attitude in them. It also has a commitment for providing opportunities to students in diverse fields such as telecommunications, embedded systems etc. The programs are enriched by the variety of cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds of our students, faculty, and staff. The department also emphasizes on all round development of the faculty and laboratory staff by providing them conducive academic environment and necessary infrastructure for carrying out academic and research work.
To impart quality technical education for developing professional engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs.
1. To provide fundamental knowledge in the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
2. To facilitate a conducive environment to develop technical & professional skills.
S. No. | Program | Specialization | Duration | Eligibility | Intake | Admission Through |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1. | B. Tech | ECE | 4 years | 10+2 (Non-medical) | 30 | JEE, IKG PTU Counseling, Management Quota |
2. | B. Tech (Lateral Entry) | ECE | 3 years | 3 years Engineering Diploma | As per IKG PTU Norms | IKG PTU Counseling, Management Quota |
The methodology adopted to ensure proper learning includes Lectures, Tutorials and Practical's in groups of 30 each. Every classroom is equipped with LCD projector.
Personality Development & Grooming of the students The department emphasizes on personality development & grooming of the students in order to develop professional capabilities of the students. The young energetic engineers are chiseled and groomed to meet all the challenges of the swiftly changing environment. Regular Personality development programmes are organized in the department in collaboration with professional organizations. Besides, motivational lectures, Group Discussions, Mock interview sessions etc. are also organized on a regular basis. The students also get an opportunity to nurture talent and allow it to bloom through a congenial atmosphere for that language lab is used.
One faculty member has been identified as the class incharge for every class. His/her role is to guide the students for:
Academic Excellence
Personality Development
Positive Attitude
Good Behavior
Discipline
Proper Dress & Uniform
Etiquettes & Manners
Motivation to students to actively participate in extra-curricular activities viz. sports, cultural activities etc.
To refrain the students not to indulge in ragging & other social evils.
Internal Assessment is based on:This lab continues our exploration of transistor switching circuits to include logic gates, latches, and flip-flops. We explore combinational circuits e.g. mux, encoder, parity generators, code converters etc. And sequential circuits e.g. flip-flops, shift registers, counters etc. Using small arrays of flip-flops.
This lab includes the study of characteristics and determination of device parameters of various solid-state devices. This consists of static characteristics of transistor under ce, cb, cc and determination of hybrid parameters, parameter determination of jfet, semiconductor diode, zener diode and voltage regulator circuits, ujt and its application as a relaxation oscillator, photodiode, single phase half wave and full wave rectifiers with inductive and capacitive filters. Phase shift oscillators and wien bridge oscillators, frequency response of common emitter amplifiers and differential amplifiers using fet.
The Purpose Of This Laboratory Is To Train The Students To Be Familiar With Analog Communication Systems: Amplitude And Angle Modulation And Demodulation Systems, Spectral Analysis Of These Operations, Super Heterodyne Noise Conditions. Digital Communication Systems: Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), Differential Pulse Code Modulation (DPCM), Delta Modulation (DM), Digital Modulation Schemes-Amplitude, Phase And Frequency Shift Keying Schemes (ASK, PSK, FSK), Matched Filter Receivers, Bandwidth Consideration And Probability Of Error Calculations For These Schemes, GSM, TDMA.
To Understand The Functionality Of Microwave Components Such As Directional Couplers, Tees Etc. To Calculate The VSWR, Frequency, Gain And Wavelength We Provide The Required Apparatus. Different Techniques Are Use To Calculate Voltage Standing Wave Ratio, Frequency, Gain, Impedance And Wavelength Etc. And To See The Performance Of Klystron, Reflex Klystron.
The department of Computer Applications conducted an innovative pedagogy activity “Simulations” on 14th Feb, 2023. Students of MCA attended the event and learned about the basics of basics of algorithms used to simulate complex real world problems. The event incharge, Dr. Sandeep Ranjan demonstrated the use of Netlogo, an open source simulation and modelling tool. He demonstrated the visualization of real world scenarios from the domains of natural phenomenon (earth sciences etc), society, biological/ physical/ chemical sciences. The students learned how to change the parameters of modeling environments.
The department of Computer Applications conducted an innovative pedagogy activity “ Data Visualization Fun” on 13th Feb, 2023. Students of MCA attended the event and learned about the basics of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Data Science which are prerequisites for Data Visualization. The event incharge, Dr. Sandeep Ranjan demonstrated the use of NODEXL, an open source data mining and data visualization tool. He mined tweets related to popular Twitter hashtags and performed various operations on them to generate complex graphs. The students were excited to see live data mining/ streaming of social media.
The department of Computer Science & Engineering conducted an innovative pedagogy activity “ Implementation on Arduino on 16 th Feb, 2023. Students of MCA attended the event and learned about the basics of Arduino, IOT The event incharge, Ms.Mamta Verma demonstrated the use of Arduino. The final prototype was showcase a digital temperature and humidity sensor, as well as analog light and water level sensors, as well as a potentiometer to sense angle.
Industrial Visit to Hoping Minds, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. Through this industrial visit, the students learned the software development practices and tools used in the IT Industry and also noted the skills they need to earn to get selected in their dream jobs.
The students learned the skills required for developing Chatbots. They had hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence tools and language datasets for developing toy Chatbots.
